Jin Whang is a communications specialist and political strategist who has led notable victories for progressive insurgent races and steered successful campaigns for candidates, criminal justice and public safety policies.

 

In addition to a digital campaign for the passage of the 2019 Reproductive Health Act--which codified Roe v Wade in the state of New York--she has worked on winning campaigns in New York City and the Hudson Valley as campaign manager, communications director, political director and operative, fundraiser, creative director and organizer. In 2022, she was appointed by District Attorney Mimi Rocah to serve as Director of Public Affairs and Communications for the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, one of the largest prosecutorial agencies outside New York City in the state of New York.

Named in City & State New York's 2022 Westchester Power 100, she has crisis managed and advised leaders and organizations on public-facing issues of the day.

 

Her career started as a print journalist (LA Times, Poynter Institute) before creating and producing award-winning motion picture marketing and on-air creative ad campaigns (Universal, Miramax, HBO). She crossed over to politics in 2017 and has since led impactful communication strategies for candidates and causes as well as electoral campaigns where she developed and created direct mail, targeted voter programs, print collateral, branding assets and digital content. 

 

She is a native of Koreatown Los Angeles and based in NYC and LA.
